Chandigarh, January 11, 2016: The written entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun for Jan 2017 Term will be conducted at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Sector – 15, Chandigarh on 1st & 2nd Jun 2016 informed a spokesman from the Directorate Defence Services Welfare, Punjab.
He informed that Only boys are eligible to apply for the admission to the RIMC, Dehradun. Candidates appearing for the above test should not be less than 11 ½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 01 Jan 2017 i.e. they should have born not earlier than 02 Jan 2004 and not later than 01 Jul 2005. They should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC i.e. on 1st Jan 2017. Selected candidates will be given admission in Class-VIII. The Written part of the examination will consist of three papers namely, English, Mathematics & General Knowledge. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50%. The viva-voce test will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam & the date for the viva-voce test has been fixed as 04 Oct 2016.
He further informed that Copies of the application forms with prospectus and set of old question papers can be obtained from the Commandant RIMC Dehradun (U.K) on payment of Rs. 490/- (for Speed Post) for General Candidates and Rs 435/- (for Speed Post) for SC/ST candidates alongwith cast certificate. through Demand Draft in favour of The Commandant RIMC Dehradun payable at SBI, Tel Bhavan (Code - 01576) Dehradun. The applications in duplicate be sent in prescribed form and five passport size photographs, Birth Certificate, State Domocile Certificate, SC/ST Certificate and Certificate from Principal of the School, in original with photograph affixed on it duly attested, stating date of birth and class in which the student is studying. Moreover, the applications duly completed must reach Directorate Defence Services Welfare, Punjab, Sainik Bhawan, Sector 21-D, Chandigarh on or before 31 Mar 2016 and applications received after 31 Mar 2016 will not be entertained, said he.
