Education Minister Orders Disposal Of Cases On Compassionate Ground Within 90 Days

Chandigarh, September 1,2015: The Education Minister, Punjab, Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema today issued instructions to the education department to dispose off the cases on compassionate grounds within 90 days. Dr. Cheema said this while chairing a meeting here at Punjab Civil Secretariat to review the various projects undertaken by the department.
 
Reviewing the cases on compassionate grounds, the Education Minister directed the departmental officials to speed up the disposal of such cases within stipulated time thereby ensuring justice to the aggrieved family. He also said that it is the responsibility of the department to contact the aggrieved family concerned with all the relevant documents and render them all possible help to apply after preparing the case and dispose the case in 3 months.
After reviewing the ongoing process of recruitment of teachers Dr. Cheema also divulged that 560 teachers would be issued appointment letters within 15 days. He directed the department to call the candidates as per merit and allot them stations of their choice. He said that in the initial phase 1847 teachers were handed over appointment letters and in the second phase 560 teachers would be given appointment letters. Dr. Cheema also directed to form the committees to supervise the sports wings under the education department so as to bring further improvement in their working. Elaborating more, he said that these committees would keep a hawk’s eye on the diet, boarding and lodging of the players by conducting checking on regular intervals at the wings.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary Mr. C. Roul, D.P.I. (Secondary) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, D.P.I. (Elementary) Mr. Harbans Singh Sandhu, Director (Administartion) Mrs. Pankaj Sharma, Director SCERT , Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Deputy Director Dr. Ginni Duggal, Additional State Project Director Dr. Gurjit Singh, Deputy Director Karamjit Singh, Amrish Kumar and Bhagwant Singh were also present.
