Students of SMD Little Champ School, Panchkula celebrate Lohri.

Panchkula, January 13, 2015: The popular festival of North India, ‘Lohri’ was celebrated with great religious fervour. The little ones were explained that ‘Lohri’ signifies the harvest time of Rabi crops and marks the end of the cold winter months. Children danced, sang songs and made merry around the bonfire. Children offered peanuts, popcorns and sweets made of til-gajak and revri to fire which is considered a symbol of Sun God. Said Mr. Naresh Gupta, Director, SMD Little Champ, Panchkula, “Lohri is considered an important festival as it brings the entire community together. Through the celebration we wanted to impress upon our students the importance of the festival and to generate a feeling of ‘helping members of the community’ among them.”
