Ludhiana, September 1, 2012: The DRI officials today conducted searches at the premises of two hosiery units today.
As per unofficial sources, the searches were conducted at two hosiery units, one each located Guru Nanak Pura and Bahadur-Ke-Road. The residential premises were also searched by the DRI officials.
Some documents were seized by the officials during the searches.
Sources told that these searches were carried out in connection with a scam by a Ludhiana-based exporter who allegedly fraudulently used inflated bills to misuse a duty drawback scheme run by the Union Finance Ministry and gained incentives worth crores of rupees.
