Ludhiana, July 2, 2016: Shri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India gave away the Dr.B C Roy Memorial National Awards to medical professionals in recognition of their contribution to medical science at a glittering ceremony on the occasion of Doctor's day on 1st July.
Dr Tejinder Singh, Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Education and Vice Principal at Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana received the award for recognition as an eminent medical teacher. Dr Singh has been very active in the field of medical education and is credited with 3 books, 225 papers and 45 chapters in various journals and books. He was also instrumental in establishing a FAIMER regional institute at CMC Ludhiana. Dr Tejinder Singh is also the Convener and National Consultant of MCI fellowship program in medical education.
The award presentation ceremony was held in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan and was attended amongst others by the Union Health Minister Shri J P Nadda, President of the MCI, Executive Director of the National Board of examinations and many Vice Chancellors of health universities.
