BHIM TANK MURDER CASE: PUNJAB POLICE FILES CHALLAN AGAINST LAST ACCUSED SHIV LAL DODA

Abohar, April 19, 2016: The Punjab Police has today filed challan against last remaining accused Shiv Lal Doda in the infamous Bhim Tank murder case here in the local court while the challan against 25 other accused was filed earlier.

Disclosing this here today Mr.Narinder Bhargav, SSP, Fazilka said that this case was investigated by a special investigation team (SIT) led by DIG , Ferozepur Range and comprising of SSP Fazilka, SP (Hqrs) Bathinda and SP, Abohar constituted to investigate this case thoroughly. It may be mentioned here that a FIR No. 120 dated 12-12-2015 u/s 302,307, 115,201,324, 326 , 148, 149, 120-B of IPC and Section 3 (2) of SC/ST Act was registered at Bahavwala Police station in connection of murder of Bhim Tank and inflicting serious injuries to Gurjant Singh. All the 26 accused who were involved in the brutal murder of Bheem Tank were arrested accused Harprit Singh @ Harry etc's Challan against 24 accused were presented in the Court of Ilaqa Magistrate on 12-03-201, accused Rajpreet Singh @ Raja's Challan was presented on 23-03-2016. Today last accused Shiv Lal Doda's Challan was presented in The Court of Judicial Magistrate Abohar after investigation. Challan of All the 26 accused has been presented in the Court of Ilaqa Magistrate . It may also be added here that two police officials had been suspended in this case for dereliction of duty.

Mr. Bhargav informed that all the 26 accused named in this case have already been arrested. He said the investigation team would continue pursuing this case vigorously to take this to a logical end and ensuring exemplary punishment to the accused.

It may be added here that on December 11, Bhim Tank and his associate, Gurjant Singh, were attacked with sharp-edged weapons at Shiv Lal Doda’s farmhouse in Ramsara, where they have gone to resolve their conflict with another group. Bhim, whose limbs were chopped off, later died at a hospital in Amritsar. Gurjant, whose limbs were also severed in the attack, is still recuperating from his injuries.

Bahavwala police of Fazilka district had booked Shiv Lal Doda and his nephew Amit Kumar Doda under section 120-B of the IPC (criminal conspiracy). Others booked in the case includes the names of Vivek Vij, Harpreet Singh, Radhiya, Gulabia, Amarjit Singh, Simran, Manpreet Singh, Surjit, Gurpreet Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Ashwani, Sunil Kumar, Ravinder, Lakhwinder, Rajwinder, Sunny Paltu, Raja and Vajir.

Liquor Baron Shiv Lal Doda who surrendered before the SSP Fazilka was remanded in police custody for five days. Doda had claimed himself to be innocent. He showed his willingness to undergo the lie detector and narco tests to ascertain that neither his family nor he has anything to do with Bhim’s murder. He then claimed that “As I am a politician, people come to my farmhouse to settle their disputes. I was not aware of any meeting between Bhim and Harry.” After the approval from Court the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) officials at Delhi conducted the polygraph test of Bhim Sain Tank murder case’s Abohar based prime accused liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda.

The case was monitored by the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab DGP Suresh Arora on parallel basis. The zonal police made arrests on a daily basis and nabbed all accused. During the probe, being held by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted under the headship of DIG Ferozepur range Amar Singh Chahal with Fazilka SSP Indermohan Singh Bhatti, Abohar SP Harjeet Singh and Bathinda SP (H) Nanak Singh being its members, it was also found that some cops were also guilty of not performing their duties properly. And resultantly, two police officers—Abohar city-II SHO Abhinav Chauhan and Bahavwala SHO Harinder Singh ‘Chameli’ were suspended from their duties.
