Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill cited examples of Steve Job and Peter F Drucker

Ludhiana, February 25, 2015: Innovations and Technology advancement has to be adopted to ensure make in India dream happen for which every citizen of the country must contribute. These were the views of different experts who shared their research in the National Seminar on Advancement in Information Technology and Innovations in Management organised by   S.C.D Govt College, Ludhiana in which 300 participants participated from across the nation. 

Chandel Gaind (IAS) special Secretary Higher Education, Govt. of Punjab inaugurated the Seminar and stressed the need to do innovations in the field of education so that there is a infusion of skills in the students to become employable. 

The keynote addresses were given by  Pushpinder Singh Gill, School of Management  Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Tankeshwar Kumar  UGC Professor in Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill in his address said that innovation has become buzz word today and it is the responsibility of each one in the nation to become the part of the Innovative processes. He cited the examples of Steve Job and Peter F Drucker who had shed light on the development agenda of the world. Dr. Tankeshwar Kumar presented his thoughts on the use of ICT in education. He explained in detail how the Panjab University is using Information Technology to upgrade its examinations and students support systems. 

While speaking on the occasion leading Geographer and Principal of the College Dr. Dharm Singh Sandhu said that geographical importance of India indicate that if the Indian population innovate and adopt technology then Make in India dream of honorable prime minister of India will mature soon.    

After the short tea break there were four Technical sessions. The Resource persons of session 1 were Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill and Dr. Kulbhushan Chandel for session 2 Dr. Harish Kumar, session 3 Dr. B.B. Singla and Dr. Raj Kumar , Associate Professor, Government College Sanjoli, and  Dr. Akashdeep  from University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University Chandigarh for session 4.

The Valedictory address was delivered by Dr.Tejinder Sharma, Professor in the department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra and presided over by Pawan Singla COE Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Sharma said that Technology is the major driver of change. Business students of tomorrow will have to learn the skills: Professional, Social as well as Personal, Infusion, Technology into the systems. While speaking on the occasion Dr. Pawan Singla explain with the help of examples how the Punjabi University Patiala has transformed the examination system of the University with the use of technology. He said that Punjabi University is the first university in the state at present where no semester results pending.  Seminar Convener and Professor Dr. Ashwani Bhalla said that though technology and innovative practices are there but unless commitment, sincerity and dedication is there in our routine functions, innovations cannot happen. He urge the students to be innovative and do everything to generate creativity in their tasks.
