DIVISIONAL Round of NNF Quiz held at DMCH

Ludhiana, July 17, 2013: Department of Pediatrics organised the divisional round of National Neonatology Forum (NNF) PG and Nursing Quiz.
The quiz was held under the aegis of NNF, Punjab State Branch. Six teams of PG students that participated in the quiz included PGIMER Chandigarh, SGRD Amritsar, DMCH Ludhiana, CMC Ludhiana, GMC Patiala and GMC Amritsar. The participants in Nursing Quiz were from PGIMER Chandigarh, GMC Patiala, CMC Ludhiana, DMCH Ludhiana.
Professor and Head of Paediatrics at DMCH- Dr. Harmesh S. Bains introduced the participants to the audience and made them aware of all the rules and regulations of the game. He said that the organising of such quiz programmes contribute to the knowledge enhancement among the students and the students can learn about many new things about the subject through this informal interaction.
The quiz was started by the NNF about 15 years ago to sensitise the paediatric postgraduates towards the special needs of newborns.
Dr. Daljit Singh, Principal and Professor of Paediatrics at DMCH, formally inaugurated the programme. He welcomed the audience and extended his best wishes to the participating teams. He emphasised that the objective for conducting NNF Quiz is to encourage and advance the knowledge, study and practice of the science of neonatology in the country.
Dr Harmesh Singh Bains conducted the quiz for PG students and Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni, Professor of Pediatrics, conducted the nursing quiz.
The winners of PG Quiz were Dr Bharat Mehra and Dr Karambir Singh Gill from DMCH, Ludhiana and staff nurses of Neonatology Section of DMCH were the winners in nursing section.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni, Dr Deepak Bhat, Dr G. S. Dhooria, Dr Jitendra Goraya and Dr Kamal Arora.
Also present were Dr Lalit Tandon (President, NNF), Dr Nidhi Malhotra (Secretary, NNF) and Dr Munish Singal (Teasurer, NNF)
