V K Sharma, Commissioner, Ferozepur/ Faridkot Division on Saturday also passed strict instructions to the various agencies to avoid tardy lifting of paddy to avoid any hassle to the farmers. He also requested the farmers to bring dry crop to avoid any delay in lifting. 

Ferozepur, October 11, 2014: V K Sharma, Commissioner, Ferozepur/ Faridkot Division today paid a visit to the various grain markets of Ferozepur district to check the procedure of grain lifting. He visited the grain markets of Ferozepur Cantt., Guruharsahai, Village Chakk Kandhe Shah and Mudki where he also interacted with the farmers and enquired the problems being faced by them.
Sharma told that 79642 metric ton paddy has been lifted from the grain markets of Ferozepur. Providing the details of paddy procured by the various agencies, he said that 20090 metric ton grain by PUNGRAIN, 23255 metric ton by MARKFED, 15668 metric ton by PUNSUP, 1656 metric ton by warehouses, 4602 metric ton by Punjab Agro, 1476 metric ton by Food Corporation of India, 9655 metric ton paddy has been procured by private contractors. He also informed that 33621 metric ton Basmati has been procured in the district till now.
The Commissioner also passed strict instructions to the various agencies to avoid tardy lifting of paddy to avoid any hassle to the farmers. He also requested the farmers to bring dry crop to avoid any delay in lifting.
Er. DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur advised the farmers to avoid use of combines during night so that the crop remains moisture free. He also informed that Special Grievance Redressal Committees have been constructed in the Grain Markets to help the farmers.
Sandip Singh Gerha, SDM, Ferozepur, Jaspal Singh, SDM, Guruharsahai, Harpal Singh, Secretary, Market Committee and representatives of various agencies were also present on this occasion.
