Ludhiana, November 26, 2019: The Punjab government celebrated “Constitution Day” today and on this occasion, a district-level run was organised, after which the officials of district administration were administered oath in their respective departments as well.
The district-level run started from Guru Nanak Stadium at 7:30 am, and after passing through Fountain Chowk, College Road, culminated at Nehru Rose Garden. This run was flagged off by SDM (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi. A large number of officials from civil administration, Municipal Corporation and Police Commissionerate participated in this run.
While addressing the participants on the occasion, Mr Malhi said that Constitution Day is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included District Public Relations Officer Ludhiana Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, District Sports Officer Mr Ravinder Singh, SDO Mr Brij Mohan, besides a large number of participants.
CONSTITUTION DAY FUNCTION ORGANISED AT AMBEDKAR BHAWAN
Ludhiana, November 26, 2019: The Punjab government celebrated “Constitution Day” today and on this occasion, a function was organised by District Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Office at Ambedkar Bhawan. This function was presided over by Mr Rajinder Kumar, District Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Officer, Ludhiana.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said that Constitution Day is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. He appealed to the participants to pledge allegiance to the constitution of India and contribute in nation building.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Ramandeep Lali, Mrs Barjinder Kaur councillor, Mr Naresh Dhigan, Mr Ravinder Deewana, Mr Pritam Singh Kore, besides several others.
