MASSIVE POLL TURNOUT REFLECTS THE FEROZEPURIANS LOVE FOR THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS: DC

FEROZEPUR, May 24, 2019: Deputy Commissioner cum district election officer Mr Chander Gaind today profusely thanked the voters, polling, counting and security staff, candidates and political parties for cooperation in organizing free, fair and peaceful elections for the Ferozepur Parliamentary seat.

A large number of officials regularly kept a strict vigil over the entire situation especially during the polling hours by visiting the key and vulnerable polling booths and ensured that people do not face any sort of problem in exercising their franchise during these polls.

The deputy commissioner thanked the wise voters of the district for once again upholding the glorious tradition of exercising their franchise freely by casting their votes without any fear. He said that it was due to voter's awareness and participation that a massive polling turnout was achieved in the constituency, adding that he congratulated the entire voters for making Ferozepur constituency one of the leading constituencies of Punjab. The huge participation of the voters reflects their love that Ferozepurians have for their democratic rights, he added.

Mr Gaind said that polling was completed peacefully and there was no report of any untoward incident from any polling booth in the parliamentary constituency. He said that no major incident of violence was reported during the voting and the peace and harmony was also maintained during the counting procedure.

He said that district administration had made elaborate security arrangements for counting and votes across the nine constituencies were counted by excelled counting staff in a professional manner.

There were around 18,000 polling personals and 1500 counting personals were deployed in the constituency to complete the polling and counting procedure in a professional way, the deputy commissioner added.
