Red ribbon clubs should educate masses

Ludhiana, October 17, 2019: The meeting of nodal officers of Red Ribbon Clubs of different colleges of district Ludhiana was held at Malwa Central College of Education for Women, here today.
This meeting was organised by Director, Youth Services Department, Punjab in collaboration with State Aids Control Society Chandigarh. Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra was the chief guest on the occasion, while Assistant Director, Youth Services Department, Ludhiana Mr Davinder Singh Lotey was also present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra urged the Nodal Officers and volunteers of Red Ribbon Clubs to educate the masses about the ill effects of drugs as well as Aids. He stressed that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed from eradicating the evil of drugs from the state and that is why, several initiatives have been taken. He also called upon the youth to come forward and work in this regard.
On this occasion, cheques of grant were handed over to the nodal officers of Red Ribbon Clubs. They were urged to organise rallies, seminars, nuked natak’s and meetings for making the masses aware about the ill effects of drugs and Aids.
Dr Amrit Kaur from Civil Hospital Ludhiana and Mr Sukhwinder Singh Cheema also addressed the gathering.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included College Vice Principal Dr Sukhdev Singh, Prof Surinder Kaur Bhathal, Dr Mahua Khosla, Mrs Jaswinder Kaur Steno, Mr Surinder Singh, Mr Davinder Singh, Mr Harish Kumar, besides several others.
