Chandigarh, November 5, 2016: The Department of Economics, Panjab University would organise a Panel Discussion on Goods and Services Tax under UGC-SAP DRS-II on November 9, 2016.
The discussion is being organized in view of the fact that GST is perceived to be a game changer for the Indian Economy and one of the major reforms for the country.
Former RBI Chair Professor, NIPFP, New Delhi and Member Board of Governors, RBI Professor Indira Rajaraman would chair the panel. Chief Economist CRISIL Mr. D.K.Joshi, and former Joint Secretary, CBDT, GOI and presently partner BMR and
Associates LLP Mr. Ashutosh Dikshit would be the other two panelists. All the panelists have a wide ranging experience in studies and policy making in taxation.
Chairperson of the department Prof. Upinder Sawhney said that the discussion is important not only for the students and researchers for understanding the concept and its application, but it is also important for the Indian taxpayers in general.
