DC asks SSP to take legal action if Dussehra is celebrated at non-designated places in Ferozepur

Frozepur, October 3, 2019: Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Chander Gaind has asked Senior Superintendent of police to take strict legal action for celebrating Dussehra at non-designated places in Ferozepur. In a letter to SSP, the deputy commissioner has informed the police department that only two places have been designated to celebrate the Dussehra event in Ferozepur that includes Rambagh Park in Ferozepur Cant and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium in Ferozepur City. Divulging more, Mr. Gaind said that the decision to allow celebrate the event at two places was taken keeping in view the traumatic incident at Amritsar last year at Dussehra event that claimed around sixty lives. To avert such incidents as precautionary measures the two prominent places are marked as designated places in the city or cantonment area. The deputy commissioner further asked the police department to ensure foolproof security arrangements including traffic management and diversion at these two places so that people can celebrate the mega event without any trouble.
