PUNJAB MLAs TO DONATE A MONTH’S SALARY TO STATE’S PULWAMA VICTIMS’ FAMILIES
Chandigarh, February 18, 2019: Members of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, on Monday decided unanimously to donate a month's salary to the families of the four martyrs hailing from the state. A resolution to this effect was moved by MLA Ferozepur Parminder Singh Pinki and seconded by MLA Qadian Fatehjung Singh Bajwa. It was put to voice vote by the Speaker and was unanimously adopted, amidst thumping of desks. The resolution expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and came a day after the Chief Minister declared his personal commitment to extend all possible help to the affected families. It may be recalled that Captain Amarinder Singh had also announced a government job and financial assistance of Rs 12 Lakh to each of the four families. The Chief Minister had yesterday visited the bereaved parents of martyr ConstableKulwinder Singh at village Rouli in Anandpur Sahib, where he had also announced special family pension of Rs 10000 per month for them, in lieu of a job since they had no other children and the deceased was unmarried.
