DAVIET signs MoU with NIT

Jalandhar, January 15, 2016: DAVIET achieved another milestone today when it officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with NIT, New Delhi on Friday.  The historic MOU signed between the two institutions will pave the way for a mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange.  The heads of both the Institutions, Dr.Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET and Dr.Ajay  Sharma, Director NIT, New Delhi agreed to jointly work in the areas of Academic & Administrative Employee Exchange, Students Exchange, Organization of Joint symposium, seminar/conferences, and workshops, exchange of academic information, materials and facilities, developing joint research proposals, promoting short term programs involving classroom coaching, excursions, interactions etc, promoting co-curricular & extra, curricular activities and devise other activities/programmes as mutually agreed from time to time.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET and Dr. Ajay K Sharma, Director NIT, New Delhi in the presence of Dr. A. K Paul, Vice Chancellor DAV University, Jalandhar, faculty delegations from Dongguk, University, Seoul, South Korea and Heads of the Departments of DAVIET. The signing of MOU was preceded by an extensive dialogue between the two heads of the  Institutions  about the scope and benefits of the mutual exchange. 
The signing of the MOU marks a momentous day in the history  of DAVIET which has created a niche for itself in the field of technical education in the entire region. It is managed by DAVCMC, a premiere non governmental organization managing more than 800 Institutions across the length and breadth of the nation. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET, Jalandhar, shared with all present that DAVIET was the first Institution to establish a Research Centre of Nanotechnology in Punjab. It was declared the Best Engineering Institute by the Punjab Technical University Jalandhar.    He further expressed his gratitude to Dr. Ajay Sharma for extending an opportunity to sign the MOU.  While introducing Dr. Ajay Sharma, he stated that he is a well renowned academician and scholar who has created a world class infrastructure to do quality research at NIT, New Delhi.  Dr. Manoj highlighted that the students will be the main beneficiaries as they will be able to get top notch exposure in the latest fields of science and technology. He stated that the mutual exchange will enable the students to take  initiatives with greater sense of responsibility. 
NIT Delhi, on the other hand,  has been declared an Institute of National Importance by an act of Parliament. NIT Delhi has laid great emphasis on theoretical and experimental research. While talking about the facilities available at the NIT Campus Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director, NIT , New Delhi highlighted that it has high performance computing facility, simulators related to VSLI design, machine Design etc. He also highlighted the fact that  NIT Delhi has developed a library app for all the students to make the relevant books easily available to all the students.  He also shared that the Institution focuses on digital and E Learning through Flip Lectures delivered by IIT Professors to keep the students abreast of the latest in their respective fields.  He  also shared with all that the thrust areas of research include: VLSI and Embedded Systems, Advanced Magnetohydrodynamics and Mathematical Modeling of fluid Dynamics among others.
