RGC Cyclists Bag PU Track Cycling Championship

Ludhiana, November 3, 2016: Ramgarhia Girls College organised Panjab University Track Cycling Championship at cycling velodrome in Panjab Agricultural University (PAU) in which five women colleges and six men colleges participated. From the women colleges, the cyclists of Ramgarhia Girl College cornered glory by clinching the championship with 28 points, DAV College, Chandigarh, seized second position with 11 points and Khalsa College for Women, Ldh, got third position with 9 points. Principal, Dr Inderjit Kaur, congratulated the Head of the Dept. of Physical Education, Mrs Rajeshwarpal Kaur and, Ms Jasvir Kaur on the achievement and said, “The cycling team of the college has many accomplishments to its credit and by winning the championship, it has added another feather to its cap.” Dr Parminder Singh, Director, Directorate of Sports, PU, appreciated all the cycling teams for putting in their best efforts and averred: “The cycling team of Ramgarhia Girls College has been putting up a good show consistently. All the other teams also performed very well. Young cyclists like them are surely going to enhance the appeal of cycling as a sport among youngsters.” S Ranjodh Singh, President, and S Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, congratulated the students on their achievement and said that the guidance of teachers and coaches coupled with the diligence of students always bore fruit. Mrs Rajeshwarpal Kaur thanked the principal and management of the college for enabling the students to make their mark at such events. She also appreciated the coaches, Mr Satinderpal Singh (Vicky) and Sukhpal Kaur for providing the students the best possible supervision and training.
