CT University organises Samvaad- A debate competition
Ludhiana, January 28, 2019: CT University’s School of Management Studies organised a debate competition ‘Samvaad’ where students debated on various social topics. The intra university competition was a fruitful activity to bring out the logical thinking among the students. The judges of the event were Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director, Science & Technology Entreprenurship Park, GNE Ludhiana; Pushpinder Dhillion, Head of the English Department, Sacred Heart Convent School, Jagroan and Mandeep Kaur, MD, Achiever English Institute, Jagroan. Welcoming the guests, Dr Amrinder Singh, Head of School Management Studies said, “The students must debate on various social issues like technology, Olympics, celebrities, social networking sites and human beings. The motive is to develop the communication skills of students and moreover arising their way of thinking and putting up their points in a social discussion.” The individual winners were Abin Piues from School of Management Studies, Harsirat Kaur from School of Humanities and Physical Education and Rajdeep Hans from School of Technology having scored the first, second and third position. Moreover, team winner were Abin Piues from School of Management Studies and Rajdeep Hans from School of Technology; Harsirat Kaur from School of Humanities and Physical Education and Palak from School of Humanities and Physical Education and Simranjot Singh from School of Design and Lotenburg from School of Management Studies. Dr Arvind Dhingra, congratulating the winners said, “The need of the hour is students with smart personality and updated information. Such debate competitions allow the students to put their thinking caps on and become aware of facts and figures as well.” Congratulating the winners and honouring the guests, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor said that 21st century needs not only one subject master students whereas needs all rounders that have logical thinking about every current issue and debate competitions are the best platforms for only the performers but the listeners as well.
