Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust commemorated the 60thDeath Anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on Monday at an impressive function held at: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 6, 2024: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust commemorated the 60thDeath Anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on Monday at an impressive function held at: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. 

Students from 35 schools of Ludhiana were present in large numbers along with the eminent citizens of Ludhiana. Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. The function started with floral tributes paid to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Chief Guest and the Trustees.

Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of the Trust welcomed the Chief Guest and the students present on the occasion. He also shared the activities of the Trust and informed the audience that the Trust distributed scholarships to the tune of Rs. 1 Cr to 1600 students by the way of scholarships and awards during the year2023-24. Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust has established a NSKT Vocational Centre in March, 2022.Till date 507 candidates got the training, out of which 386 were successfully placed in leading industries at Ludhiana with an average salary of around Rs. 12,000. He also spoke about the Horizon School of Excellence at Bhamian Road which is providing free education to under privileged children.

The Trust had also organized 29th Inter-School Declamation Contest on 4thMay, 2024in which 24 schools from Ludhiana had participated. The Chief Guest gave away the trophies to the winners of the contest & Nehru Championship Trophy to the winner team of D.A.V. Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana. Besides this, the individual prizes were distributed to the students. The Chief Guest also distributed scholarship cheques of Rs. 15 Lakhs to students of 35 Schools of the city.

Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, Bipin Gupta, General Secretary, Sunil Gupta, Vice President, G. L. Bassi, Treasurer, Dr. S. C. Ahuja, Deepak Panday, Siddharth Aggarwal, Rashmi Grover, Sangita Sareen, Trustees, and other dignitaries.

The Chief Guest Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana appreciated the various charitable & social initiatives undertaken by the Trust. She called upon the children to follow the path of hard work and honesty.
