Comprehensive Critical Care being organised at DMCH, Ludhiana on Saturday.

Ludhiana, July 26, 2014: 11th Comprehensive Critical Care Cource (4c) was organised by Punjab Chapter of ISCCM along with Department of Medicine, DMCH, Ludhiana in Dumra Auditorium.
In his message to the audience, National Co-ordinator & Course Director- Dr Rajesh Chawla said that the CME is directed towards specialists who treat patients in the ICU and CCU, including chest physicians, surgeons, pediatricians, pharmacists/pharmacologists, anesthesiologists, critical care nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The scientific sessions, during the conference, covered all aspects of acute and emergency care for the critically ill or injured patient.
Organising Chairman-Dr Sandeep Puri extended warm welcome to the dignitaries, guest speakers and participating delegates present on the occasion.
Organising Secretary-Dr Rajesh Mahajan said that patients usually come to DMCH with the entire spectrum of critical care problems and the expertise and facilities available in the Department of Crirtial Care medicine provide all of the resources necessary to manage critical illness, including all modes of mechanical ventilation, mechanical support of the circulation and support of organ systems
The scientific sessions on the first day of the conference began with lecture on Airway Management by Dr Ashish Bhalla, Prof of Medicine from PGIMER, Chandigarh followed by elaborative lectures on the topic of  Mechanical Ventilation by Dr Yash Javeri and Dr Vinod Singla. Dr Vivek Gupta from Hero DMCH Heart Institute spoke on ‘Acute Coronary Care’.
Other topics that were covered on the first day of the conference include ‘Hyponatremia’ & ‘GI Bleed’ by Dr Yash Javeri followed by lectures on ‘Acute Pancreatitis’ and ‘Poisoning’ by Dr Dhruv Chaudhary from PGI, Rohtak. Dr Jayashree from PGIMER, Chandigarh spoke on ‘Peditric Critical Care Issues’. The course concluded with three workstations conducted on ‘Airway Management’ by Dr PL Gautam and Dr Rabinder Singh Sobti followed by workstation on ‘Mechanical ventilation’ and ‘Cardiac Arrhythmia’ by Dr UPS Sidhu and Dr vivek Gupta respectively.
