Charisma -2019, mega annual fresher’s party of DAVIET organized

Jalandhar, September 3, 2019: Charisma -2019, the Mega Annual Fresher’s Party of DAVIET, Jalandhar was organized with great pomp and show at its Lala Chanchal Das Auditorium today. The event stands for a formal welcome to the first year entrants by their seniors. It provided the students with a euphoric platform to exhibit their talent in a wide variety of cultural events. The foot-tapping music, the flash lights along with the excitement and high spirits of the youngsters made the party unbridled and exuberant. The special attraction of the night was interaction of star cast of the upcoming Punjabi movie Saak with the freshers. Mandy Takhar aong with Jobanpreet Singh were the celebrity attractions of the event. Rupinder MInhas, the producer of the movie and Kartar Kamal, the singer of the movie aso joined the star cast. Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the students. Charisma -2019 manifested youth and enthusiasm at its full flow. The ramp walk was a great hit with the audience. The competition was tough as a total 18 pairs of boys and girls tried to outperform each other in 3 different rounds. The expert judges of the event, were Surendra Seth, Sarita Tiwari and Kuljeet Kaur. The function began with a sufi performance by the singing cub of the Institute i.e. Strings and Sargam Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET extended a rapturous welcome to the Chief Guest, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Balkar Singh, Superintendent of Police and other distinguished dignitaries to the Fresher’s Meet. Addressing the euphoric entrants, he termed Fresher’s Party as the frontrunner flagship mega event for the students of first year connoting a Formal welcome extended to them by their seniors. Dr. Manoj stated this to be an event by the students and for the students and applauded their dynamic and creative organizational efforts for organizing this grand event. He highlighted that the Chief Guest has done a commendable job in empowering the youth of Punjab by equipping them to be rid of the menace of drug abuse. He highlighted the need to involve Youth in initiatives like Swatch Bharat so as to make it successful. He also encouraged the students to shun the use of plastics and opt for biodegradable products. He also shared with a present that the institution has started an initiative under the scheme of one student one tree and has planted 1100 trees in the adjoining areas to fulfill its duty towards nature. He urged upon everyone present to do their bit to plant trees as Punjab has only 5 % forest cover as opposed to the desired 35 %. He aso touched upon the entrepreneurship Cell of the Institution and stated that any student who has a good business idea should come forward and the institution will facilitate the sponsorship of the project upto Rs 15 Lak. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest of the function Sardar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar congratulated the young and vibrant DAVIETians for organizing this mega event. He highlighted that the society is transforming and the first and the foremost thing to succeed is to remained disciplined. He shared that there are three ingredients to succeed in life and they are hard work, dedication and perseverance. He motivated the students to give their best in life as they are al at the take off stage of their career and the hard work put in today will take them a long way in life. Mr Surendra Seth in his address blessed the students and defined Charisma the way of highlighting the skill and talent of the students. He highlighted that in order to increase their Charisma the students need to remain soft spoken, listen to everyone intently and should respect their parents and teachers. The function ended with the National Anthem.
