Career Seminar at Department of Education

Chandigarh, November 17, 2015: “There are 350 listed careers which a youngster can aspire to pursue and 220 more will get added by 2022, do we have counsellors to show the way?  A career counsellor can empower thousands”, said Mohan Tiwari, CEO and Co- founder of “Students’ Destination” at Department of Education, Panjab University (PU).
Mr Tiwari was addressing the students at Career Seminar. The career seminar was organized by Dr. Latika Sharma to facilitate an interaction with educational entrepreneurs for the students of Education faculty. As many as 130 students and research scholars participated in the seminar. 
The students were happy to be told about new careers besides teaching and research.
Providing the insights about the opportunities in the field of career counselling in India, Mr Tiwari motivated the students to take up career in counseling. 
Mr. Tiwari, the resource person was accompanied by Ms. Kanan Kapil, Business Head, Career Counselling Services for Students’ Destination to address the students and research scholars of Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Mr. Tiwari told about the growing need of Career Counsellors in present scenario and introduced the Career Counselling Certification program offered by Students’ Destination with a unique business model that gives the advantage of work from home career with flexi hours. 
Prof. Raj Gupta and many students participated in the interactive session. It was an exposure to the growing trend of creating business out of increasing need for decision making in choice of education and career streams. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
