CABINET MINISTER SADHU SINGH DHARAMSOT EXHORTS PEOPLE TO LEND SUPPORT IN GOVERNMENT’S FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS
KHANNA/ LUDHIANA, July 7, 2018: The Forest, Wildlife Preservation, Printing, Stationery, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister, Punjab, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot on Saturday exhorted the people to lend their support to the government in its anti-drug movement to make Punjab a drug free state. Addressing the gathering during a function organized by Hind Samachar group on the second death anniversary of Swadesh Chopra wife of Vijay Chopra, Editor-in-Chief of Punjab Kesari Group, Dharamsot solicited fulsome support and cooperation from the various walks of people for transforming the anti-drug movement into a social revaluation to wipe out the menace of the drug completely. Dharamsot said that it is high time when the people the state must come forward and help the government in restoring the glory of the state or to save future generations of the state for falling prey to the curse of drugs. He further claimed the due to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, the supply line of the drugs has been snapped. He also lauded the efforts of Hind Samachar group for holding a medical camp for the poor people. Later answering the queries of media persons, he said that he is ready to undergo a dope test and hailed the decision of a mandatory dope test of all government employees, including policemen. Samrala MLA Amrik Singh Dhillon, former cabinet ministers Tej Parkash Singh, Khanna SSP Navjot Singh Mahal, SDM Sandeep Singh Garha, Congress leaders and others were also present.
