TUITION FEE OF STUDENTS SCORING ABOVE 60% MARKS TO BE WAIVED OFF

Ludhiana, July 25, 2018: With an aim to provide cheaper and quality technical education to the meritorious students, the students studying in all government run polytechnics, engineering colleges, Maharaja Ranjit Singh University and PTU can get the fee waiver from 70% to 100% under the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme. As per the decision taken by Punjab government, fee would also be waived off for those students who take direct admission in second year.

While providing further details about this scheme, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal informed that Punjab government has initiated this program for the brilliant students so that they can be provided job oriented education and training.

He said that under the scheme, 70 percent fee waiver in tuition fee would be for the students in 10th class, scoring 60 to 70 percent marks, 80 percent tuition fee fee waiver for students scoring 70 to 80 percent marks, 90 percent fee waiver for students scoring 80 to 90 percent and students scoring 90 to 100 percent marks would get the full fee waiver.

The DC further stated that meritorious girl students hailing from poor, needy sections and having domicile of Punjab could avail this facility. He stated that in Ludhiana's only Government Polytechnic College (Girls), students can take admission in three-year diploma courses in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Garment Manufacturing Technology, Fashion Design and Diploma in Modern Office Practices.

He stated that several other schemes are also going on in Government Polytechnic College (Girls), Ludhiana. He said that for taking admission under this scheme, online registration has already started and a help desk for the same has also been set up in the college premises.
