Amritsar, November 3, 2015: The NSS Unit I of the Law Department and NSS Unit II of Guru Nanak Dev University in association with the Model Blood Bank of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital organized a blood donation camp in university campus which was sponsored by HDFC Bank, Amritsar. A blood donors’ directory was also prepared on the occasion. As many as 500 students registered themselves for blood donors directory and 225 students donated blood at the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Registrar, Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon. He interacted with all the students and encouraged them for such type of activities. He appreciated the prompt response of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar in encouraging such activities of the students and providing all necessary administrative support for organizing the camp. He applauded the various volunteer services carried out throughout the year by students under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Prof. HS Gujral, programme officers Dr. Bimaldeep Singh and Dr. Rajesh Kumar. He also encouraged the students to make this activity a regular event .
Dean Students’ Welfare , Prof. Dr. Amarjit Singh Sidhu , also encouraged the students to take part in such voluntary activities in future and promise to extend his help. Dr. Viney Kapoor (head of the law department) welcomed the chief guest and others. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
