R-Day function at Jalandhar.
Jalandhar, January 26, 2013: Punjab Minister Bhagat Chuni Lal unfurled Tricolour at the district-level R-Day function here on Saturday.
He took salute from contigents of Punjab Police, BSF, CRPF, Punjab Home Guard, NCC Cadets, NSS Scouts and others.
More than 2,000 school children took part in the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, he reminded of our constitution free fighters. He also highlighted various development projects undertaken by the ruling state government in Punjab.
The minister appealed to people of Punjab to maintain peace and communal harmony.
He announced a grant of Rs 1 lakh for the deaf and dumb school and Rs. 1 lakh for the participants in the function.
A total 9 sewing machines were also disbursed to the widows.
