Ban on sale and purchase of syringes without doctors’ prescription in Ludhiana District

Ludhiana, July 6, 2018: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Dr. Shena Aggarwal has banned the sale and purchase of syringes in the district on the medical stores (excluding areas under Police Commissionerate) without the doctors’ prescription. As per the ban orders issued under 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, some chemists are selling the syringes which are being used by drug addicts for taking intoxicant. There are chances of disturbance of law and order due to this and this needed to be stopped. These orders will remain enforced till September 5.
