Ludhiana, September 7, 2018: Life Line Foundation Ludhiana is going to dedicate the day of September 11, 2018 to Health and Environment. A free Cancer and Health checkup camp is being organized in addition to the seminar on, “What should be done to make Buddha River Pollution free”. The cancer tests will be carried out in high tech labs of World Cancer Care Trust set up in nine buses. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal will lead the team.

The pollution of Buddha Nullah flowing through Ludhiana city is considered a major cause of widespread cancer in Punjab. Moreover this river, known as ‘Gandha Naala' is a very vivid reflection of the state of Punjab's water bodies, environment, nature, business, technical level, economy, urban and rural development in addition to our political, administrative and social culture prevailing all over. Calling it a reflection of Dieing Punjab will also not be an exaggeration. On 12 the August 2018 around 12,000 Punjabis residing from Chandigarh till Sri Ganga Nagar and many living in foreign lands, took part in a 'Run for freedom' of Buddha Nullha'. This run sent out a message that if all bodies and classes join the cause whole heartedly, we can rid the river of its present sorry and polluted state and we all can thus work jointly towards the improvement of situation of our state Punjab too.

With this intention `Life Line Foundation’ is organizing a seminar on the topic “What should be done to make Buddha Darya pollution free”. It will be convened on 11th September from 3 pm onwards at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana.

“In addition to Scientists, Industrialists, NGOs and Social thinkers we have invited representatives of Pollution Control Board, National Green Tribunal, Sewerage Board, MCL, District Administration and Heads of concerned departments of Punjab Government to share their vision papers”, said the representatives of Life Line Foundation here today, adding various decisions, researches, reports and projects undertaken related to the issue so far will be discussed.
