Awareness created to check practice of female feticide and drug de-addiction during cultural festival

Ferozepur, March 6, 2016: Two days Annual cultural festival of SBSSTC JASHAN 2K16 was organized by SECA (Society of Extra Curricular Activities) under the guidance of Prof Munish Kumar, Prof Amit Arora and Prof Navdeep Kaur with great pump and show. All the Department Societies of SBS Campus namely ChESS from Chemical Engg Department, CompuWave from CSE, SELCOME from ECE, SEE from Electrical Engg Department, SFME from Mechanical Engg Department, ISCE from Civil Engg Department, MBA/MCA Wing Department Societies vied for prestigious Award of Best Department Society. During this two days programme all the Departmental Societies performed enthusiastically. Best Department Society Award was won by SFME from Mechanical Engineering Department. First Runner’s Up Award was won by Selcome of ECE Department and Second Runner’s Up Award was won by Chemical Engg Department Society ChESS.
Dr. T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director was the Chief Guest during this cultural festival. The main theme of this cultural festival was to aware people to curb the practice of women feticide and Drug De-addiction, which is an alarming and frightening reality in today’s society. The function was inaugurated by Dr T S Sidhu Campus Director, Dr A K Tyagi Associate Director, Prof Gazal Preet Singh Dean SCA, Prof Munish Kumar Coordinator SECA, Prof Amit Arora Co-Coordinator SECA and Ms Navdeep Kaur Co-Coordinator SECA by lightening the lamp. The function was started with Shabad Gayan by Harleen Kaur from Chemical Engineering Department.
Mister JASHAN 2K16 Award was won by Mr Arpit of First year from Electrical Engineering and Ms Ashima Arora of third year from Chemical Engineering is Miss JASHAN 2K16.
During this two days Gala Function various events like Mucchh-te-Mucchh, Shake the Beat, Choreography, Drama, One Act play, Bollywood Tadka, Ad Mad Show, Sur Sangam, Quawali, Mime, Dastar Bandi, Nukkad Natak, Face Paining, Rangoli, Bhangra, Gidda and Mister & Miss Jashan 2K16 were organized. Chemical Engg Department Society Chess won first prize in Ad MAD Show and Choreography. Mechanical Engg Departmental Society SFME won first position in Bollywood Tadka, Drama, Sur Sangam Solo and Instrumental, Rap Star, Duet Song, Bhangra and Fused Beat. CSE Society “CompuWave” won MIME. Civil Engg Department Society ISCE won in Shake the Beat Solo and Duet category.
Gidda event was prepared by Prof Sukhwant Singh from Mechanical Engg Department. Mister and Miss Jashan 2K16 event was prepared by Prof Navdeep Kaur and Prof Amit Arora with support of students Ajeet Joshi and Samriti Sharma.
Mr Harsimran Singh Sandhu from Final Year ECE was President SECA, Mr Sartaj Singh from Mechanical Engg Deptt was Vice President, Mr Ram Krishan Singh Rajguru from Mechanical Engg Deptt was General Secretary, Mr Ajeet Joshi from Mechanical Engg Deptt was Chief Coordinator, Mr Dinesh Saini from Mechanical Engg Deptt was Event Manager, Mr Shubham Kumar Mechanical Engg Deptt was Incharge Refreshment Committee. Mr Yatharth Anand from ECE Deptt; Mr Partap from Mechanial Engg Deptt; Mr Narendra from Mechanial Engg Deptt; Mr Shivant from Mechanial Engg Deptt; Ms Kamaljeet Kaur from Chemical Engg Department; Ms Samriti from CSE Department; Mr Rishabh Singh from Mechanial Engg Deptt; Ms Twinkle Garg from ECE Department, Mr Satvir Singh from Civil Engg Department, Mr Harish from Civil Engg Department, Mr Sanchit Sharda from Mechanical Engg Department, Mr Swapnil Chaudhuri, Mr Vikas Gandhi from Mechanical Engg Department and Rahul Gautam from CSE Department were Core Committee Members. Mr Gunjan Kumar from Mechanical Engg Department looked after Art and Designing responsibility.
Sponsorship Partners Kamal Studio Jagraon, KIWI, IMI, Rajdhani, Maa Saraswati Institute provided support to this Mega Cultural Festival. Students Sponsorship Committee members were Baljinder Singh Bumb, Vaibhav, Ritu Singh and Komal Singh. Anchoring was done by Twinkle Garg, Gursewak, Vaibhav, Sonal Singla, Tripjot Kaur, Mandeep Singh and Saksham Shukla.
Choreography was performed on Drug Addiction and Indian Politics. One Act Play was performed on indulgence of Drug Addiction and Alcoholism during students life giving strong message to shun this great Social Evil. Drama was performed on theme of Women Empowerment. MIME was performed on theme of Ill Effects of Mobile usage. Bollywood Tadka was performed on theme of Malamal Weekly. Mr Harpinder Singh and Mr Rajinder Kumar were members of Photography Committee. Mr Amarjeet from Chemical Engg Department was member of Refreshment Committee.
