Jalandhar, October 23, 2016: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is a nurturing ground for traditional art and culture. In keeping with this age-old custom at KMV the KMV Department of ECA in collaboration with Spic Macy Chapter of Jalandhar organized a mesmerizing performance by Sh.Rajendra Prasanna (Indian Flautist Bansuri and Shehnai artist of Hindustan Classical Music form Benaras Gharana on Saturday. Sh. Rajendra Prasanna has totted the Globe Performing at landmark musical festival like Edinburgh (UK), WOHAD Festival Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Switzerland UNO Headquarters to name a few. A much awarded artist Sh. Prasanna has been the recipient of Grammy Award Certificate for his participation in ‘Concert for George” in 2004 and also Life Time Achievement Award by Sahara India. Pt. Prasanna was given a warm floral welcome on arrival and after lighting of the ritual lamp of knowledge he began his performance. Accompanying him on the table was Sh. Lalit Kumar ji a renowned table player, while Shahzad Rashid Ji played the Tanpura along with the flute recital. The show transported the audience with it divine aura, time flow by and the mesmerized audience was kept glued to their seats. Only after the flute stopped playing the audience came back to reality sh. Rajendra Prasanna Ji and the accompanying artists Sh. Lalit Kumar Ji and Shahzad Rashid ji were honoured with a warm token of appreciation by Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi who thanked them all profusely for gracing the stage of KMV and giving the audience a divine lifetime experience through the tuneful compositions. She also lauded Dr. Gurjot Kaur, Head of ECA for having organized such a wonderful performance.
