Apeejay School student brings back sweet memories from Japan

Jalandhar, November 26, 2014: Anchal Sharma, a student of XII Commerce of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi Jalandhar returned from Japan where she had gone under JENESYS programme organised by Ministry of Human Resource and development, India and sponsored by Govt. of Japan.

The nine- day visit starting from November 10-18 proved to be a very fruitful one for the student.

The visit beg of the programme was a visit to Meyi Jingu Shrine in Tokyo where the students saw the famous Japanese Bonsai. Harayuku street that reflects the pop culture of Japan was next on the visit list.

The technological advances made by Japan were witnessed by Anchal When she got a chance to visit Tokyo University where she felt awe-struck on seeing the working of a mini robot which could understand more than 200 commands. The University to keep the specially abled people.

The Indian students on day 3 visited Nikko City In Tochigi where students went to Shinkyo sacred Bridge and Nikko Toshogu Shrine.

Day 4 gave Anchal a chance to act as Brand Ambassador of the country when she met Vice Mayor of ohtamara city who gave a brief description about the people, location and tourist attractions of the city.

She also visited shrine and Yo Shioka Shokuhin Co. Ltd (Red Chilli PepperManufacture) where students learnt about the production and processing of chilli pepper.

The home stay programme was an experience to revel. Anchal shared a special bonding with the family who showered their love and affection over her by preaparing Indian dishes. She apprised the family of Indian culture, tradition and special bonding in Indian families. She presented the family beautiful gifts depicting Indian culture.

The last day of the visit was beholding a Japanese Carnival that displayed Japanese dances and various Japanese dishes.

The highlights of the visit were that Japanese still use bicycles to move from one place to another. Inspite of being technologically advanced, Japanese are still deeply rooted to their culture and tradition.

Principal Madhu Sharma congratulated Anchal for her enlightening experience to Japan and for gathering first – hand information of Japanese culture and tradition.
