Apeejay School bags third prize at International Space Settlement Design Competition

Students of Apeejay School, Jalandhar who bag third prize at International Space Settlement Design Competition with the school authorities.

Jalandhar, March 23, 2015: The students of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar won the third prize at the International Space Settlement Design Competition organised by National Space Society (NSS) in collaboration with NASA. Our school is the only school in Punjab which is selected under Senior category.

Students had designed Space Colony KUMO-LIPO which is divided into three phases. The phases will start in 2015 and will be completed by 2050. The colony consists of all the basic facilities for the survival of human beings. The main feature of the Space Colony is that it will use Helium-2 present on Titan (Saturn’s Moon) to provide energy to Space settlement for any kind of purpose.

Students will attend the ISDC (International Space Development Conference) to be held in Toronto, Canada in the month of May where they will receive their award. Students will present their ideas in front of eminent educationists, space scientists and participating students from all over the world. Students will also get a chance to meet Rocket and Space Scientists and learn the latest developments in Space Science.

Principal Madhu Sharma congratulated the students and their mentor Pooja Patial for this meritorious achievement. She wished the team further success in all the future endeavours.
