Donates a total of Rs.5 lakh to the family members of the brave soldiers

Pune, March 16, 2019: In a bid to help the grieving families of the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama, All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS)carried out a social initiative by lending support to the families of Pulwama martyrs from the state.

A leading education institute from Maharashtra donated an amount of Rs.5,00,000 to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to the family of the brave soldiers who died at Pulwama Attack. The fund was raised by management, faculty, teaching, non-teaching staff and students of AISSM for the families of Late. NitinShivaji Rathod and Late Sanjay Singh Dixit (Rajput).Late Nitin Shivaji Rathod, 36, was a resident of Chorpangra village in Buldhana district. Nitin is survived by his parents, his wife Vandana, 28, and two children, Jeewan, 8, and Jivika, 5. He had joined the CRPF when he was 23.

Late Sanjay Singh Dixit (Rajput), 49, the other jawan who was slain, was a resident of Malkapur in Buldhana district. Sanjay had served the CRPF for 23 years and had extended his service by five years and was transferred to Jammu. Sanjay was one of the 40 CRPF personnel who was slain in Pulwama when a car laden with explosives rammed their bus in a terror attack. He is survived by his wife Sushma, and two sons, Jay, 12, and Shubham, 11. The duo, like others on the bus, was resuming duty after a holiday.

The function was presided by Mr.Malojiraje Chhatrapati, Honorary Secretary AISSMS. On the occasion, he said, “ The barbaric attack on the CRPF convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar highway sent shock waves across the nation. India will never forget the sacrifice of the 44 Jawans who lost their lives in the blast. They will continue to remain in our hearts and prayers. I extend my heartfelt condolences; it is our responsibility to support Soldier’s families in such a critical period of time. ” He also expressed his gratitude to all the students, Principal, Teaching, Non- teaching staff and Society members for their sincerer contribution for the cause.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Suresh Shinde, Joint Secretary AISSM. And other office bearers of the institute like Mr. Sachin Kulkarni, Mr. Nikhil Khanse, a Society member, and all the Committee Members, all the Principals, HOD’s and students of the institute.
