Administration XI wins friendly cricket match against Media XI at CT Group

DC Varinder Kumar Sharma & CP Gurpreet Bhullar remains Chief Guests

Jalandhar, January 19, 2019: A friendly cricket match between city Administration and media was being played on the occasion of the launch of International cricket pitch at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. The Chief Guests for the occasion remained Deputy Commissioner Varinder K Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet S Bhullar along with CT Group Chairman Charanjit S Channi, Co- Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi, Managing Director Manbir Singh and Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh.

The toss was won by the Media XI team and they chose to bowl first. The Administration XI team gave the target of 150 runs in 16 over match and won it by 64 runs. The man of the match remained Navjot Mahal, SSP.

The players from Administration XI team were GS Bhullar, Navjot Mahal (SSP), Jitendra Jorwal, Vishesh Sarangal, Paramvir Singh, Navi Mahal (ACP), Manvinder Singh (DPRO), Harminder Singh, Amit Sharma, Vikas, Sumit, Santoor, Jatinder Kohli (APRO), Parminder and Himanshu Jain. Whereas, the players from Media XI team were Narinder Nandan, Ravinder Sharma, Raman Meer, Waris Mallik, Jaspreet Singh, Sunny, Manoj Tripathi, Prabhmeet, Rohit Sidhu, Varun, Sunil, Jagroop, Gaurav Bassi and Rohit Madaan.

On this occasion, DC Varinder Sharma said that such matches should be organised on regular basis as these sports activities are full of fun and one can easily get refreshed from his busy work schedule.

Charanjit S Channi, Chairman CT Group congratulated the winning team and said, “One should keep his sportsmanship spirit alive and must take care of his fitness by playing any of the games. We have built up an international cricket pitch at our Shahpur campus, keeping in mind the guidelines of International Cricket Council. The pitch is open for outsourcing as well and we would wish to organize similar matches in future too.”
