Aam Aadmi Party demands justice for alleged gang rape victim
Ludhiana, November 27, 2014: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded the immediate arrest of the remaining two accused who were allegedly involved in the gang rape of a minor from Basant Nagar, Police Station Daba, near village Lohara in Ludhiana. AAP convener Ahbaab Singh Grewal said that even after almost two months of the incident while two accused were arrested on the spot, two of the accused were still at large.
In a statement here today, he added the victim’s father has been running from pillar to post from 4th October begging for justice for his daughter but to no avail. The victim and her family are so traumatized that they have left their family home and are living in a rented accommodation.
He added AAP has promised all legal and other aid to the victim and her family. Aam Aadmi party volunteers from ward No.64 Dr. Surinder Vashist and Harcharanjit Singh are in constant touch with the victim’s family and are helping them since the incident, he said.
