7 Days NSS Camp concludes at DAV College

Jalandhar, December 24, 2018: Today , NSS Camp organised for 7 days in Nandanpur village by DAV College's NSS unit came to an end. Under the supervision of Principal Dr.S.K.Arora and guidance of Camp Commander Prof.S.K.Arora and Programme Officer Prof.Dr.Meenu Talwar, Prof.Komal Arora and Prof.Rishi Kumar ,NSS Camp was organised.

The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of this Camp , MLA of Kartarpur region Chaudhary Surinder Singh said during his addressal that it is the duty of every person living in the society to keep his surrounding clean. He praised the work done by volunteers of NSS camp in his region Nandanpur village and said that they'll always be thankful for this Effort. He further said that if educated students can serve the society in this extreme cold then others will also follow the same.

Principal Dr. S.K.Arora welcomed the Chief guest Chaudhary Surinder Singh and said that DAV college doesn't only concentrate on education but also participates with full enthusiasm in the well being of the society .He said that only these kind of students can become all rounder personality who can serve the society without any selfishness.

Camp Commandant and NSS Coordinator Prof .S.K.Midda presented the Camp report by talking about Volunteer's work. During the Camp in Nandanpur Village and College Campus ,Cemetry and all the weeds were cleaned out by the volunteers. Volunteers tiled the way with interlocking tile which was not tiled before and prepared a path for the people use . Apart from this the weeds were cut down by the volunteers and various rallies regarding Drugs,Votes,Water Conservation ,Women Empowerment and Mutual Brotherhood were carried out by the volunteers . The termites were eradicted from the trees and then the trees were painted white.

In the intellectual session organized
during the camp , Chief Guest's were Sh.Ravi Dara , Assistant Director Youth Services Gurdaspur wing, S.Gurkaran Singh , Assistant Director Youth Services Jalandhar wing ,Prof. Dr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma ,Prof.Dr. Davinder Pal Mand and Prof. Rishi Kumar in order to control Drug addiction and saving environment.

Apart from this for the growth of students ,in the form of Camp fair a cultural program was organized in which all the students and teachers participated. In evening ,sports session was also organized.

90 volunteers took part in this camp .The deserving volunteers were awarded on the last day of camp as Best Hard worker, most Disciplined ,Best Sportsman ,Best Diary Writer Volunteers were awarded . Along with this rest 80 volunteers were awarded with certificate and Trophy .

Prof. Dr. Meenu Talwar was the stage conductor . Prof. Rishi thanked the Chief guest and the Volunteer Training team who contributed to this cause in any way . Apart from this ,Prof.Bhuvan Lamba ,Prof. Ravi Kumar ,Prof. Sahab Singh,Prof. Neha ,Prof.Monica Arora and Prof.Paramjeet were present at the event.
