3 dead in poisoning case, police arrest in-laws

Dharamshala, September 9, 2018: Renu Bala who poisoned her children and consumed poison herself yesterday, died today in Tanda Medical College. Both her children died yesterday in the same hospital. Police said that the victim took this deadly step as she was facing the cruelty of her in laws. All the accused in this case have been arrested today. Santosh Patial, SP, Kangra said here today, “In Khundian suicide case of this district, husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law of deceased Renu Bala have been arrested. Renu Bala (30), wife of Parveen Kumar of village Saduhi PO Siyalkadd, Tehsil Khundian, District Kangra, also died today at Tanda Medical College where she was brought yesterday in serious condition in this case of poisoning. Both the children died in Tanda Hospital yesterday.” Patial added that yesterday, information was received at Police Post Majheen, 50-kms from here that a woman along with her two children were brought to CHC Jawalamukhi for treatment in serious condition of poisoning. Local police visited the spot and verified the facts. He added that it was observed that victim Renu Bala who was allegedly being subjected to cruelty by her husband and his relatives, administered poison to her children named Vishal (5) and Sumit (7) and thereafter consumed poison herself too. All these three were referred to Medical College Tanda but unfortunately both the children died at Tanda yesterday. Condition of victim Renu Bala was critical and kept on treatment but she too died today. Patial said, “A suicide note has also been recovered which seems to be written by the victim Renu Bala. A case under Section 498-A IPC has been registered at PS Khundian against the accused husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law of deceased who were arrested.”
