13TH PDFA DAIRY & AGRICULTURE FAIR STARTS AT JAGRAON

--PUNJAB FARMERS COMMISSION CHAIRMAN AJAYVIR JAKHAR INAUGURATES IT TODAY
--MORE THAN 200 COMPANIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE PARTICIPATE IN THIS FAIR

Jagraon (Ludhiana), December 15, 2018: The 13th Progressive Dairy Farmers’ Association (PDFA) Dairy and Agriculture Fair started here, today. PDFA is a pioneer organisation working for the overall development of dairy farmers and today’s fair was inaugurated by Punjab Farmers Commission Chairman Ajay Vir Jakhar. The 13th fair was dedicated to former chairman of Punjab Farmers Commission Dr Gurbachan Singh Kalkat.

During the inaugural function, PDFA President Daljit Singh Sadarpura, Dairy Development Director Inderjit Singh and Farmers Commission Secretary BS Sidhu.

During today’s fair, Senior IAS officer Kahan Singh Pannu, Secretary (Agriculture), Mission Director Tandrust Punjab and Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab was also specially honoured for his contribution towards agriculture of the state. On the occasion, Kahan Singh Pannu said that the drive against adulteration in food products would continue on full scale.

More than 200 companies from across the globe showcased their products and technologies to the farmers. The national level competition of cows and buffaloes have also started today.

While speaking on the occasion, Punjab Farmers Commission Chairman Ajay Vir Jakhar said that PDFA organises international level Dairy Show and Exhibition every year to motivate the farmers to keep good quality animals and to bring the scientists, companies and farmers at a single platform.

PDFA President Daljit Singh Sadarpura said that their association is connected with the farmers from grassroots level, which organises to international level dairy and farmers fair to keep the farmers in touch with new technologies.
