125 encroachments from phase 5, 6, 7 & 8 of focal point removed
Ludhiana, September 13, 2019: Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) newly appointed Chairman Gurpreet Gogi today spearheaded an anti-encroachment drive in Focal Point area, here. This anti encroachment drive was carried out with the help of Municipal Corporation and Police and encroachments from roadsides, parks and green belts in Phase 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Focal Point, here. While speaking on the occasion, Gurpreet Gogi informed that some persons had encroached upon land in Focal Point area, which was hampering the growth of industries. These encroachments include tea stalls, sheds and kiosks. He informed that the encroachments on roadsides were hampering the flow of traffic, while those in parks and green belts presented a bad picture of the area. He informed that during today’s anti encroachment drive, around 125 encroachments were removed. He said that during the search drive, some questionable items were also recovered, whose investigation is going on. He said that all these encroachments were on costly government land, due to which they were also suffering financial loss. He also directed the MC officials to ensure that these encroachments do not come back. He said that the Punjab government is committed for the promotion and development of industry in the state and no such encroachments would be tolerated in the future. He was also accompanied by SDO Amanpreet Singh, besides several others.
