‘An Eye Donation’ seminar organised in Lyallpur Khalsa College
Jalandhar, January 5, 2019: On the Fourth day of a Regular Seven Days NSS Camp, ‘An Eye Donation’ seminar was organised in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. The Seminar was presided over by the Principal, Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra. He welcomed the chief guest Mr. Ashok Mehra by giving him ‘A Plant of Hope’. Principal Dr.Samra encouraged the audience and volunteer of NSS Camp to come forward for donating eyes. The Chief guest of the occasion Mr. Ashok Mehra informed that he established an organization “Puranjot Welfare Society” in 2013. He also had a vision to make the world free from blindness. He also reiterated that with the help of his team members, about 50,000 people pledged to donate their eyes. They have also organized eleven free camps at different places to aware the folks. Mr. Mehra motivated the students, the gathering and the volunteers to donate eyes and other organs of their bodies to needy people. Dr. Tarsem Singh, coordinator of NSS camp gave a vote of thanks. He also threw a light on the importance of donating eyes as it gives a vision to someone. Dr. Priyank Sharda, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Navneet Arora and Prof. Satpal Singh were present on the occasion.
