Ferozepur, February 28, 2019: In an incident which raises several question over the security of a common man, a person was murdered by few unidentified assailants during broad daylight. The deceased has been identified as Pritam Singh (34) who was elected as the Zila Parishad member recently.
Prtiam, a resident of Village Ali ke had come to city area to drop his children to school and was going back after dropping them when the incident took place.
As soon as the matter was reported, senior police officials including Sandeep Goyal, SSP Ferozepur, Baljit Singh Sidhu, SP (D) Surinder Bansal DSP reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Baljit Singh, SP (D) while giving information said that a case has been registered following complaint lodged by Kartar Singh, the father of the deceased. “Five persons identified as Joginder Singh alias Shammi, Soni, Lal Singh, Bubby and Hoshiar Singh have been booked by name besides two unidentified persons have also been booked under sections 302, 120-B IPC and 25,54 Arms Act (Case number 22 dated 28.02.2019)”, said SP D Baljit Singh. “The reason behind the murder can be ascertained only after the arrest of the accused”, he further added.
Pritam is survived by his wife and three kids including two daughters and a son.
