XL Catlin announces upto 26 weeks of fully paid maternity leave

Mumbai, April 6, 2017: XL Catlin, the Bermuda based global re/insurer, has announced providing upto 26 weeks of fully paid maternity, adoption and surrogacy leave and four weeks of paternity leave for its employees working in the country.

This forms a part of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy and ongoing efforts to attract and retain the best talent. In addition employees who adopt or have a child via surrogacy will be eligible for reimbursement for some of the related expenses, a company statement said.

Employees may also take up to 25 days of leave to provide care for a sick close relative or a non-related person living in the same household, it added.

XL Catlin's shared services division in the country already has around 1,400 people working that provides vital underwriting support, claims administration, actuarial services, finance and accounting, risks modelling, data analytics, risk management, and technical and administrative support, among other services for XL Catlin’s teams across the world.

Recently XL Catlin opened a new Shared Services office in Gurgaon that provides some of the excellent facilities to its employees.

“Seeking out the best local talent in each of our markets has always been a key focus for XL Catlin. We have had offices in India for 10 years now, with some exceptional colleagues making up our existing teams here in Gurgaon and in Bangalore, where around 350 colleagues are based,” Derek Nazareth, XL Catlin’s head of global operations and country manager for India told.
