WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY – 2019 OBSERVED BY CMC
LUDHIANA, MAY 17, 2019: World Hypertension Day was observed by College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana at Prem Nagar, Field Ganj, Ludhiana on 17th May, 2019 on the theme “Know your Numbers”. Mr. Sanjeet Johnson-Associate Professor, Ms. Nisha Singh-Clinical Instructor & Ms. Bhawna-Demonstrator conducted the program under the guidance of Dr. Reena Jairus-Professor & Principal &Prof.(Mrs.) Glory Samuel-Vice Principal/HODof community health nursing department, College of Nursing. The audience was general public. Mr. Sanjeet Johnson unfolded the theme and expressed his views regarding prevalence & prevention of Hypertension. He also emphasized that people should go for regular blood pressure check-up and knows their numbers (blood pressure) in order to seek necessary medical help on time. A healthy life style with balanced diet, regular exercise, good amount of sleep, less stress & less consumption of salt can help in having normal blood pressure. If blood pressure is high regularly, it can lead to heart diseases, stroke & kidney failure. B.Sc(Nursing) Interns (Batch 2015) performed role play and displayed posters regarding Hypertension, which were appreciated by the audience. Students also checked blood pressure & blood glucose level of the audience.
