Workshop On 'Industrial Automation' Organised By DAVIET

Jalandhar, October 28, 2015: A workshop on 'Industrial Automation' was organized on 28/10/15, by the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Convention Hall. The aim of this workshop was to make the students aware about PLC, and SCADA Systems, both of which are instrumental in the field of Automation. Automation is an excellent career option for the students of Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, Jalandhar opened the workshop with a welcome address to the resource team from Softcon India Pvt. Ltd. He laid huge emphasis on the setting up of 'Centre of Excellence' in the college so that, the students would receive the necessary industrial and academic exposure. He stressed extensively on the up gradation of technical skill set of the budding engineers through such workshops. He encouraged the students to be inquisitive and motivated them to think out of the box.

The resource person Mr.Bhaskar Sharma, Head (Centre of Excellence), Softcon India Pvt. Ltd. conducted the workshop on 'Industrial Automation' with due stress given upon PLC and SCADA Systems. His team included Mr. Piyush Upadhay (Sr. Embedded Engg.), Ms. Kajal (Automation Engg.) and Ms. Sonia (College and corporate Manager).

Mr.Sudhir Sharma, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering boosted the students to inculcate latest technological skills. Also present were, Ms. Chintu Rza and Ms. Shivani Mehta along with faculty members and students of the department.
