WORK ON THEME PARK Chamkaur Sahib to be resumed

Chandigarh, March 5, 2013: The Punjab government has resumed work on the prestigious project 'Saka Chamkaur', theme park being built at Chamkaur Sahib in Rupnagar district in memory of the elder Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh and other Sikhs, who had attained martyrdom while fighting the Mughals in 1704.

Disclosing this here today, Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Punjab said that the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal has taken keen interest to complete the project lying incomplete for some time. He said that the senior officers of the MARKFED have been asked to look into the ongoing construction work of the project. He also said that required funds to the tune of 26 crore required for the completion of this project would be raised and the project would be completed at the earliest.
