Ludhiana, August 7, 2019: The Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (Ministry of Textiles, Government of India) organized its 178th Meeting of Committee of Administration in Ludhiana today.

During the meeting Rajneesh Ghai, Chairman informed that members that due consistent efforts by WWEPC, Government of India has reduced Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on Wool Fibre and Wool Tops from 5% to 2.5% in Union Budget announced on 5.7.2019.

During the meeting, the Council also decided to launch an aggressive export promotion strategy for the year 2019-20, whereby the Council will participate in Exhibitions/Trade Fairs in USA, Canada, Lithuania, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, Peru and South Korea to boost the export of Wool & Wool Blended Products from the Country.

On this occasion, Rajneesh Ghai, Chairman also inaugurated the renovated building of Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council at F 497, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana.

The Council will carry out its working from this office now. On this occasion, the members of the Committee of Administration of WWEPC were also present.
