Voter Appreciation Letters for the first time youth voters by the district administration

Ludhiana, February 1, 2017: District Administration, Ludhiana has decided to honour the first time youth voters for the ethical use of voting. The first time youth voters will be honoured with the appreciation letters immediately after the casting of vote at the polling stations.

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat intimated that this decision has been taken to motivate and inspire the first timers youth voter for the ethical use of voting. He intimated in detail that the number of total voters registered in Ludhiana, as per the records, is 2440258 and out of them, 42257 voters belong to the age group of 18-19 years who are going to cast vote for the first time. Voter Appreciation Letters bearing the signature of District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana have been prepared for these voters. These appreciation letters will be given by the concerned B.L.O.s to the voters.

Sh. Bhagat further informed that the number of first time voters of Ludhiana is greater than the rest of the districts and the effort is being made for their maximum participation in voting to increase the percentage of voting and to strengthen the democracy. Giving information constituency wise, he informed that the number of first time voters in constituency Khanna is 2695, whereas in Samrala 3634, in Sahnewal 3285, in Ludhiana East 2497, in Ludhiana South 2008, in Atam Nagar 1726, in Ludhiana Central 1885, in Ludhiana West 2719, in Ludhiana North 2028, in Gill 4390, in Payal 3797, in Dakha 4495, in Raikot 3270 and in Jagraon it is 3828 who will cast their vote for the first time.
