VOCATIONAL TRAINING ON POULTRY FARMING AT KVK FATEHGARH SAHIB

Ludhiana, May 23, 2017: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib conducted 5 day Vocational Training programme on Poultry farming for rural youth and farm women from 15 to 19 May 2017. The programme started with the welcome address by Dr.Vipan Kumar Rampal, Deputy Director (Training). He oriented the participants about the need and importance of backyard poultry farming and commercial poultry farming.
Dr.Ajay Singh, Assistant Professor (Animal Science) provided information on various aspects of poultry farming including the breeds of poultry, selection of hatchery & chicks, Care and management of day old chicks, Selection of site, Housing management, Water management, Feed preparation, Vaccination schedule etc. An exposure visit of the participants was organised at Village Sangatpur sodhia and interacted with the poultry farmer.
The vocational training programme concluded with the motivation to the trainees to adopt poultry farming as broiler farming & layer farming.
