New Delhi, January 29, 2013: Recognising the efforts and remarkable contribution to the society, Vandana Luthra, Founder and Mentor, VLCC has been conferred the Padma Shri Award on the occasion of India’s 64th Republic Day on January 26, 2013. 

The Padma Shri Award is amongst the highest civilian honours in India and is bestowed on citizens who have rendered meritorious service in their respective fields.

Luthra has been recognised for her exceptional contributions in the field of Trade & Industry.

On receiving the Award, Luthra said, "I am honoured to receive the Padma Shri and am humbled to have been accorded with such a prestigious award. I feel my biggest contribution has been to be able to empower people with the skills and training to live healthier and fulfilling lives. I have always believed that a healthy population makes for a healthy nation. I hope my contribution in this space will continue making a difference in the lives of people."

With this honour, Luthra now joins the league of most honored Indians for their individual accomplishments and contributions to the country.

The Padma Shri is awarded to distinguished Indians and people of Indian origin for their exemplary work in various spheres of activity including the arts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, social service and public life.
