Punjab News- Patwar Union hands over Rs 36.52 lakh draft to Majithia for CM’s Relief Fund for Uttarakhand victims

Chandigarh, September 13, 2013: The Revenue Patwar Union, Punjab  today handed over a draft of Rs 36,52,000 to Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia towards Chief Minister Relief fund for the ongoing rehabilitation works in flood ravage Uttarakhand.

Appreciating the gesture of Patwar Union, Majithia said that the Punjabis have always followed the path to serve the suffering humanity as preached by Guru Sahiban and  played a leading role during any calamity faced by the humans. He said that every Punjabi daily prays to Almighty for ‘Sarbat da Bhala’(welfare humankind).

The Minister said that the Punjab Government had already contributed Rs 10 crore for the rebuilding of various religious places, besides adopting 25 villages for rehabilitation through the state PWD department. Besides this, a sum of Rs. 5,18,75,916  donated by the people and employees of the state has also been contributed for Prime Minister’s Relief Fund by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal recently.

Majithia thanked the Chief Minister for leading the nation in extending every possible help to Uttarakhand government during the worst ever crisis faced by the hilly state.

It may be mentioned here that all the Patwaris’ across the state have donated their one day salary for this noble cause. Earlier, the Youth Akali Dal under the leadership of its President Bikram Singh Majithia had contributed Rs. 21 lakh for the rehabilitation of Uttarakhand victims.
